Nagaland will experience rain in 5 days: IMD

The IMD also suggested the public check traffic congestion on one’s routes before traveling.

Kohima: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has reported that due to the influence of strong south-westerly winds from the Bay of Bengal to Northeast India in lower troposphere levels, widespread rainfall with isolated heavy to very heavy rainfall is likely over Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, and Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura during the next five days.

According to the IMD update on June 7 and 8, the Nagaland districts of Mon, Longleng, Tuensang, Kohima, and Peren are likely to experience widespread rainfall, while Mokokchung, Kiphire, Phek, and Dimapur may experience fairly widespread rainfall and scattered rainfall likely in Zunheboto and Wokha.

On June 9 and 10, Dimapur, Wokha, Mokokchung, Zunheboto, Kiphire, and Phek are likely to experience fairly widespread rainfall, while Mon, Longleng, Tuensang, Kohima, and Peren districts are likely to continue experiencing widespread rainfall.

The IMD also suggested the public check traffic congestion on one’s routes before traveling; follow any traffic advisories that are issued in this regard; avoid going to areas that face water logging problems often, and avoid staying in vulnerable structures.
