Kohima: The Government of Nagaland has asked schools to resume physical and offline classes for students in classes 1 to 8 on February 15 with up to 50 per cent attendance.

It stated that students may be allowed to attend the classes, subject to parental consent of the ward concerned.

According to an order issued by the Nagaland Home Department today directed that re-opening of any school would also be subject to teachers and non-teaching staff being fully vaccinated against Covid19.

If not vaccinated, the concerned staff member should test negative for Covid19 either through RT-PCR, TrueNat, or CBNAAT once every 15 days.

The Department further stated that schools should adhere to all the provisions of the Standing Operating Procedure to contain the spread of Covid19.

In addition, the Department modified the notification for students of class 9 and above, wherein anyone who has completed 15 years of age would be allowed to attend regular or offline classes, only if the student has taken at least one dose of vaccine against Covid19, the order said.
