Kohima: Nagaland recorded 96 new COVID-19 cases, which increased the case tally in the state to 23,562, an official report said here on Sunday.
Among the 96 fresh COVID cases, the highest 38 were reported in Kohima, 26 cases in Dimapur, 20 cases reported from Mokokchung, four from Tuensang, four from Zunheboto, two from Phek and two from Mon. According to the report, 58% of confirmed cases this week were traced contacts followed by self-tested, random sampling at 36%, travelers 24 and frontline workers 22 both at 2% and nine security personnel at 1%.
Nagaland yesterday recorded 235 of recovered COVID patients and with these total recovery cases in Nagaland rose to 18,822.
With these the total number of COVID-19 infected cases has now reached 23,562, the active cases are now 3,633, total recovery of patients is 18, 822 people have been recovered so far. Following the death of three more patients in Dimapur, the death toll rose to 448, including 14 non-COVID deaths, but with COVID positivity.
