Nagaland records 309 new COVID cases, 9 deaths

The COVID related death toll rose to 422, as of yesterday.

Kohima: The cases of COVID-19 positive in Nagaland have gone up again with 309 new cases reported in the past 24 hours, pushing the total cases in the state to 22,696.

According to official report Sunday among the 309 fresh cases, 164 cases reported in Mokokchung, 55 in Kohima, 33 in Dimapur, 29 in Mon, 15 in Tuensang, seven in Longleng, four in Kiphire, one in Peren and one in Phek. Among the new cases, 210 cases were detected by test contacts, 88 were through self testing and random sampling, five were front-line works, four from armed forces and security forces and two were among returnees. There were six fatalities, two were reported in Dimapur and two were in Mokokchung and one in Kohima and one in Zunheboto. With this the death toll rose to 422, out of which 14 were non- COVID deaths but with COVID positivity.

A total of 177 positive patients recovered in Nagaland Saturday, however no breakup was given, the report said.

While the active cases are now 4,819, a total of 16,814 people have been recovered so far and with nine more deaths, the COVID related death toll rose to 422, as of yesterday.
