Nagaland records 18 new COVID positive cases

Kohima: Nagaland recorded 18 new Covid cases yesterday taking the tally to 31,659 so far and with no more death report, the toll remained at 675.

According to a Nagaland Health Department bulletin today, among the 18 fresh COVID cases yesterday, the new cases were detected from five districts of Nagaland, with 10 cases in Dimapur, four cases in Kohima, two in Wokha, one in Peren and one in Tuensang, taking the total caseload to 31,659.

The 18 new cases were detected out of 712 samples tested yesterday with a positive rate of 2.53 per cent. Of the new cases were from self-tests and 15 random tests, while three cases from the travellers coming from outside the state.

On the recovery of COVID-19 infected patients in the State, out of altogether nine COVID-19 patients recovered, five were from Dimapur, two from Kohima, one was from Mokokchung, one from Tuensang, taking the total number of recovered persons to 29,702, with a recovery rate in the state now as of yesterday is 93.81 per cent.

The state has 255 active COVID-19 cases at present, Out of these, 184 are asymptomatic while 54 cases have been categorized as ‘Mild’ and eight as ‘Moderate on oxygen, ‘six are on oxygen support while 1one has been admitted to the ICU without ventilator and two patients are currently in the ICU with ventilator, and 49 admitted in COVID hospitals and 186 currently under home isolation. As there was no report of any death in the state from the pandemic, the total COVID-19 related death cases remained at 675, it said.
