Nagaland records 110 new COVID positive cases

With one more patient succumbed to virus infection in Peren the death toll touched to 582, the bulletin said.

Kohima: A total of 110 new cases of COVID-19 were recorded in Nagaland over the past 24 hours that pushed the north-eastern state’s tally to 28,445.

According to a Nagaland Health Department bulletin today, among the 110 fresh COVID cases yesterday, the new cases were detected from ten districts of Nagaland with 33 cases in Peren, 26 cases in Kohima, 21 in Dimapur, 10 in Longleng, nine in Mokokchung, five in Zunheboto, three in Tuensang, one in Kiphire, one in Mon and one in Wokha, taking the total caseload to 28445. The new cases were detected from among 1,921 samples tested in the last 24 hours, returning a daily positivity rate of 5.73 per cent.

On the recovery of COVID-19 patients, 79 persons recovered from the infection yesterday, of them 42 from Kohima, 11 from Mokokchung, 10 from Dimapur, six from Wokha, four from Kiphire, three in Longleng and three in Peren, taking the recovery tally to 25,682. There are total of 1,370 active cases, of the 1,098 cases are asymptotic, 217 are with mild symptoms, 27 are moderate with oxygen, 14 are severe with oxygen, seven are critical in ICU without ventilator and seven are in ICU with a ventilator.
