Nagaland receives COVID vaccine

According to sources, an Indigo Flight delivered 4 boxes of vaccines at Dimapur Airport yesterday which were offloaded by the Cargo staff and immediately handed over to Nagaland Department of Health and Family Welfare.

Kohima: Nagaland has received the Covishield vaccine from the Serum Institute of India (SII), which will allow the state to start the vaccination process of 18 to 44 years age group, ,official sources said Thursday.

According to sources, an Indigo Flight delivered 4 boxes of vaccines at Dimapur Airport yesterday which were offloaded by the Cargo staff and immediately handed over to Nagaland Department of Health and Family Welfare.

The state is yet to launch the vaccination process of the 18-44 age group however, the Health Department informed that the vaccination of employees in several priority Departments and corporations including banks, Nagaland State Transport (NST), Nagaland State Rural Livelihood Mission (NSRLM), LPG, OIL, Food Corporation of India, Postal Service, Journalists and high risk groups involved in quarantine centers are still in waiting lists.

The registration and booking for the aforesaid age group will start tomorrow (May 14) as per the slot available for each COVID-19 Vaccination Centre (CVC) and registration through CoWIN or Arogya Setu is mandatory for all beneficiaries and no on-site registration will be entertained and those who have registered earlier still need to book a slot at any designated CVC, sources said.
