Kohima: Kohima Police personnel manning Khuzama Inter-State check gate were conducting routine vehicle checks when they seized a vehicle heading towards Kohima from Manipur and found 360 Grams of suspected heroin neatly packed in 30 soap cases.
According to a release issued by the PRO of Kohima Police said in this connection, the driver of the vehicle aged 36 years, a resident of Senapati district of Manipur was arrested and the contraband along with the vehicle was seized.
During preliminary investigation, the total value of the illegal contraband is found to be worth approximately Rs 30 lakh in the national market.
Accordingly, a case under the NDPS Act has been registered at Khuzama Police Station for the purpose of further investigation, the PRO said.Â
