Nagaland logs 88 Covid cases in 24 hrs, 4 deaths

In the case of Covid patients’ recovery, 80 recoveries were also reported on Tuesday

Kohima: Nagaland recorded 88 new Covid-19 cases in the past 24 hours taking the tally to 26,140, the Health Department said here on Wednesday.

According to the Health Department bulletin, among the 88 cases, fresh infections were detected from all nine districts of Nagaland with 30 cases in Kohima, 28 cases in Mokokchung, eight in Dimapur, six in Longleng, six in Mon, four in Phek, three in Zunheboto, one in Kiphire, one in Tuensang and one in Wokha, taking the caseload to 26,140.

A total of 38 new cases were detected from self-test or random tests while 38 were traced contacts, nine were Central Armed personnel and security forces, two were returnees or travellers and 1 was a frontline worker. The new cases were detected among 1,023 samples that were tested yesterday and the daily positivity rate of 8.60 per cent.

In the case of Covid patients’ recovery, 80 recoveries were also reported on Tuesday and they are 35 from Kohima, 15 from Dimapur, 16 from Mokokchung and seven from Kiphire and seven from Mon, taking the number of recovered cases to 23,858. With these, the active cases are in the state now stands at 959.

About the COVID-19 related deaths, the state four deaths were reported during the day, with one in Kohima, one in Mon, one in Peren and one in Zunheboto, pushing the tally to 511, the bulletin said.
