Kohima: Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio has stated that the power supply in the state has greatly improved and it has become the first state in the North East to reach 100 per cent of all recognized villages; however, it was unable to make a profit on resale of power.

Replying to a question of MLA Amenba Yaden on the floor of the 7th session of the 13th Nagaland Legislative Assembly yesterday, Rio, who is also the Minister in-charge of Power, stated that the losses in the power sector are mainly due to widely spread consumers across all strata of society, high level of rural distribution and tendency of consumers evade payment for their actual consumption.
