MYC coaching centre inaugurated in Siaha

Aizawl:  Vanlaltanpuia, MLA, Chairman MYC and Vice Chairman, Higher &Technical Education Board inaugurated MYC coaching centre at DRDA Conference Hall, here in Siaha, Saturday.

An inaugural function of the Coaching Centre was presided over by H. Lalnunzuia MPESS, Under Secretary, Mizoram Youth Commission and Kesavan R, IAS, DC Siaha proposed a Welcome Speech and expressed his happiness over this remarkable initiative, and said that “this kind of Coaching Centre is a boon for the civil service aspirants especially for those who hailed from weaker section of society and rural areas,” and revealed that he himself was a product of this kind of Coaching Centre ran in the state of Tamil Nadu.

He enthusiastically added, “I will be very happy to extend my helping hand to the Coaching Centre as Deputy Commissioner and I am also willing to volunteer myself for faculty member if need arises”

N. Lalzarzova, SDC gave detail reports on the initiative taken to run MYC Coaching Centre and said that MYC was the joint efforts of MYC and Social welfare Minister Dr K. Beichhua; and elaborating further, he said that MYC provided for Faculty members by tying up with Coaching Centre located in New Delhi called Alternative Learning System (ASL) and Minister Beichhua has sponsored all furniture, equipment such as: Computer, Printer, Internet Connection, projector, white Board etc. apart from renovating the rented building.

Speaking on the occasion as Chief Guest Dr Vanlaltanpuia pointed out that no civil service aspirants from Mizoram state could bag covet IAS post through UPSC examination for the last 6 or 7 consecutive years. Most of the Mizo IAS (RR) officers have retired and only a very few remain in the service, and if this trend continued longer, in spite of being the 2nd highest literacy rate in India, Mizoram will have no regular recruit IAS officers of her own.

Therefore, amongst many projects and schemes MYC has been undertaking for the youths, endeavours to crack UPSC examination for the IAS was the biggest of all, and the inauguration of Coaching centre was the first step towards our goal, he added.
