Modi, Shah likely to visit Nagaland

Rio informed that Shah will be visiting Nagaland on January 6, while the Prime Minister is likely to come on January 13 or 14.

Kohima: Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio has expressed hope that Nagas would know the status of the Naga political issue during the upcoming visits of Prime Minister and the Union Home Minister Amit Shah.

Addressing the annual sports meet of Zhadima Village Youth and Sports Organization, Rio informed that Shah will be visiting Nagaland on January 6, while the Prime Minister is likely to come on January 13 or 14.

He said the biggest hope related to the visits of the two leaders was on securing a solution to the Naga issue which would be the “greatest happiness” for Nagas. 

He said that following a solution there would be an increase in seats for Assembly, as also those for the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha from the state.
