Patna:Former Bihar Deputy Chief Minister and BJP member of Rajya Sabha Sushil Kumar Modi on Sunday questioned the reluctance of JMM for carrying out caste census in Jharkhand.
Modi said RJD was extending its support to the JMM government headed by Chief Minister Hemant Soren but it was surprising that JMM was reluctant in carrying out the caste census in Jharkhand. If Soren was so reluctant to carry out caste census, why was RJD still extending its support to the JMM government, he added.
BJP leader said that panchayat elections were held in Jharkhand without giving reservation to Backward Classes. Now preparations were being made for local bodies elections without reservation facil ities for Backward Classes, he added.
Modi also lashed out at Grand Alliance leaders for criticising union budget on the ground that Bihar was ignored in budget. In reality, Bihar would get the maximum share of taxes from the central pool than any other state under provisions made in the budget, he added.
