Aizawl: One more person has tested positive for COVID-19 in Mizoram, taking the tally in the northeastern state to 4,383, a health department official said on Monday.

A 22-year-old man in Aizawl was diagnosed with the disease on Sunday, the PTI quoted him as saying.

The new patient is asymptomatic, and it is yet to be ascertained how he contracted the infection, the official said.

The state currently has 24 active cases, while 4,350 people have recovered from the disease. Nine people have succumbed to the infection.

According to the official, 10,781 health workers have been administered the COVID-19 vaccine in the state so far.

As many as 2,15,331 samples have been examined for COVID-19 in the state, including 555 in the last 24 hours.
