Aizawl: Governor of Mizoram PS Sreedharan Pillai Monday participated in the first meeting of “National Committee for 75th Anniversary of India’s Independence Commemoration” via video conferencing, which was presided over by Amit Shah, Union Minister of Home Affairs in the presence of National Committee Chairman Narendra Modi, Prime Minister of India and other members.

National Committee for the 75th Anniversary of India’s Independence Commemoration was constituted on 6th March, 2021. There are 259 members including former Presidents, Chief Justice of India, Speaker of the Lok Sabha, Union Ministers, Governors and Chief Ministers of all the states, Bharat Ratna Awardees and high officials. This committee is created to provide policy direction and guidelines for formulation of programmes for the commemoration of 75th anniversary of Indian Independence, at the national and international level.
