Minister Rajen visits DM College, inspects collapsed building portion

During the visit, Rajen assured to renovate and reconstruct the adjoining classrooms of the collapsed portion of the building

Imphal: Manipur Education Minister S. Rajen Singh has visited D.M.College of Science, Imphal and inspected a collapsed portion of the college building Wednesday.  

The Minister was accompanied by the Commissioner Hr & Tech. Education, M. Harekrishna, IAS, Chancellor D.M. University Prof. Dr. Rajmohon Singh, Registrar Dr. Nivedita Lairenlakpam, Chief Engineer, Education Engineering Wing, Sharatchandra Singh, Principal D.M. College of Science and other officials during the visit.

During the visit, Rajen assured to renovate and reconstruct the adjoining classrooms of the collapsed portion of the building. He said that since the classrooms of the old building are not in a good shape, reconstruction of new blocks are necessary. Necessary steps for new constructions will also be taken up on priority basis, he added.

Later, the ministerial team inspected the condition of wall fencing of the eastern side of the college along the National Highway. The Minister also inspected the work progress of the Administrative Block of the Dhana Manjuri University which is under construction. He also inspected the earth work being taken up in the north eastern side of the college campus. 

The Minister also instructed all the concerned officials and contractors to complete the assigned work within the stipulated time in the interest of the students’ community.
