Imphal: Agriculture, Power Minister, Th. Biswajit Singh, participated in Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s interaction programme with scheme beneficiaries “Garib Kalyan Sammelan” at Panchayat Bhavan, DC Office Complex, Porompat, Imphal East District Monday.
The district-level event was linked with the national event at the historic Ridge Ground in Shimla wherein the Prime Minister interacted with the beneficiaries across the country through video conferencing. The PM also released the 11th installment of the financial benefit of Rs. 21,000 crore to more than 10 crore beneficiary farmer families under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) scheme.
MLA Wangkhei AC, Thangjam Arunkumar; MLA, Kshetrigao AC, Sheikh Noorul Hassan; Adhyaksha, Imphal East Zilla Parishad, P. Bimola; Deputy Commissioner, Imphal East District, Khumanthem Diana; ADM, Imphal East District, Shamim Ahmad Shahand other district level officers participated in the function.
Minister Biswajit interacted with beneficiaries of the Imphal East district. Altogether 20 beneficiaries each of the 16 Government Schemes totaling over 400 participated and shared their experiences and gratitude towards Prime Minister Narendra Modi for coming up with such “People-Centric” schemes.
Massive awareness will be carried out regarding the Government Schemes so that more and more intended beneficiaries can avail the benefit of the schemes said Minister Biswajit while interacting with the beneficiaries.
As observed across the country, the District Administration Thoubal also organised the Garib Kalyan Sammelan and Interaction program with the Prime Minister at the Counting Hall of Deputy Commissioner Thoubal.
Minister MAHUD, RD & PR Y.Khemchand Singh, was the Chief Guest of the function, MLA Heirok AC Th.Radheshyam, and Adhyaksha Thoubal Zilla Parishad Hasina Begum were the other dignitaries of the function.
During the function, various beneficiaries spoke about the benefits they received from schemes provided by the government for the welfare and well-being of the general people. The beneficiaries expressed their gratitude to the government for introducing various useful schemes which is helping to uplift the poor and needy people.
As part of the program a film showcasing the various schemes set up by the government was also screened for the public as part of the awareness programme. Interaction of beneficiaries with dignitaries and live broadcast of the National function held in Shimla was the part of the function.
