Shillong:Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad Sangma on Friday condoled the death of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s mother Hiraben.
Hiraben passed away at a hospital in Ahmedabad in the early hours of Friday at the age of 100. She was admitted to the hospital on Wednesday.
In a tweet, Sangma said, “I extend my deepest condolences to PM,Sh @narendramodi ji on the passing of his dear mother, Smt. Heeraben Modi.”
“Losing a parent is an unthinkable loss and losing a mother is the most painful. May God grant him and his family comfort during this difficult,” the Chief Minister said.
Meanwhile, Leader of Opposition in the Meghalaya Legislative Assembly and Trinamool Congress leader, Dr Mukul Sangma has also expressed his deepest condolences on the demise of Modi’s mother Heeraben.
“My deepest condolences on the demise of #HeerabenModi, the loving mother of the Ho’ble PM @narendramodi ji. May God grant the ho’ble PM solace & fortitude to overcome the loss & may the soul of the departed mother rest in an eternal peace,” he tweeted.
