Shillong: Balika Hindi Vidyalaya Secondary School celebrated its 60th Foundation Day at the school premises here on Friday.
The school was founded by Lt Rameshwar Goenka in 1963.
It was a special day as the school family had the chance to reflect not only on the beginnings of Balika Hindi Vidyalaya Secondary School and its founders but also on the school’s significant development since its inception.
The President of the school, Prashant Goenka, the Secretary of the school Dr. K.K. Jhunjhunwala, members of the Lions Club, the Headmaster of RB Anup Chand Sec School, the Headman of Keating Road, and members of the Electrical Association were some of the dignitaries and well-wishers who attended the programme.
The school authorities appreciated the founding fathers as they reflected on their commitment, dedication, and resilience in their vision to provide access to not only quality education but also the all round development of the children.
Ex students of the school were invited and felicitated, making the occasion a scene of joy and happiness for everyone present.
