Marathwada registers 93, new COVID-19 cases, 3 deaths

During the past 24 hours, 2,401 fresh cases of COVID-19 were recorded across the state, taking the total number of infections to 65,64,915.

Aurangabad: Marathwada region of Maharashtra recorded 93 new cases of COVID-19 and 3 related deaths during the past 24 hours, health authorities informed on Wednesday.

Details from all the district headquarters collected by UNI showed that out of the eight districts of the region, Beed reported the highest 28 new cases and a single death, followed by Aurangabad which had 16 cases and one death, Jalna had 4 cases and one death, Osmanabad had 28 cases, Parbhani had 8 cases, Latur had 7 cases and Nanded had 2 cases.

While in the Hingoli district no new COVID case was recorded, they added.

Meanwhile, during the past 24 hours, 2,401 fresh cases of COVID-19 were recorded across the state, taking the total number of infections to 65,64,915.

The state also registered 39 more deaths, taking the death toll to 1,39,272.

Meanwhile, the highest 2,840 patients recovered in the state, pushing the total number of recoveries to 63,88,899 the recovery rate currently stands at 97.32per cent while the fatality rate is 2.12 per cent.

At present, there are 33,159 active cases across Maharashtra undergoing treatment at different COVID-19 centres and hospitals, the health authorities said.
