Manipur’s positivity rate improves to 6.5% Friday

Imphal: In the last 24-hour leading up to 5 pm of Friday, two persons succumbed to Covid-19, 108 persons (107 general population, one CAPF) tested positive and 158 persons recovered and were discharged in Manipur, as per an official release from the Health Department.

The two deceased persons were from Imphal West and Thoubal. Both of them had co-morbidities; one had taken the 2nd dose of Covid vaccine while the other one had taken the 1st dose. The cumulative death toll in the state now stands at 2077.

Of the 107 persons from the general population who tested positive, 50 are from Imphal West, 18 from Imphal East, 10 from Bishnupur, nine from Thoubal, seven from Kakching, four from Senapati, three from Kangpokpi, two each from Tamenglong and Ukhrul and one each from Chandel and Churachandpur. Altogether 1,673 persons were tested which amounted to a positivity rate of 6.5 %

Meanwhile, 158 persons recovered and were discharged, 112 from home isolation, 30 from CCCs and eight each from JNIMS and RIMS. The recovery rate of the state stands at 96.74 %. 

The cumulative number of positive cases in the state now stands at 1,35,638 out of which 1,31,216 have recovered, leaving 2,345 active cases.

The total number of doses administered on February 10, 2022, is 9,006, the cumulative number of doses administered is 26,13,993(1st dose 14,77,857, 2nd dose 10,89,092) and precautionary dose 47,044.
