Manipur’s Health Minister calls for coordination between public and private sectors for better healthcare system

Ranjan maintained that the government is relentlessly working to improve the health care system in the state.

Imphal: Health and IPR Minister, Dr. S. Ranjan Singh, has said that coordination between the public and private sectors is required for a better health care system. The minister was speaking as the chief guest at the foundation day celebration of Jivan Hospital in Kakching on Wednesday.

Speaking at the occasion, Ranjan maintained that the government is relentlessly working to improve the health care system in the state. Many welfare and health schemes have been launched at the central and state levels. Schemes like PMJAY, CMHT, Chief Minister’s Health for All, etc. may be mentioned. The grassroots health care system must be prioritized. “Without improving the primary health care system, tertiary health care will be barely improved,” he added.

The minister suggested that health staff work with a commitment to the welfare of the public. The importance of health care is understood by all. Nursing care for patients is a one-of-a-kind thing that health professionals must provide.There has been a turning point in the health care system during the past few years. He stated that IT-enabled services to the private and public sectors have become a new trend.

He said that the role played by the health staff during the COVID pandemic is commendable. The government is now prepared for any pandemic. The support of the private hospitals is necessary for bringing a better health care system to the state. The endeavours of the private hospitals also need to be encouraged; minister added.

Director, Health Services Manipur, Dr. Kh. Sasheekumar Mangang, and Dr. Nepram Sanjib Singh, Medical Superintendent, RIMS, also shared the dais as president and guest of honour respectively. The managing director of Jivan Hospital, Yengkhom Ashokumar Singh, was also present at the occasion. As part of the celebration, certificates and mementos were also given to the hospital’s top performers.
