Manipur’s Covid positive rate improves to 1.0% Tuesday

Of the five persons who tested positive, two are from Imphal East and one each from Imphal West, Kamjong and Thoubal.

Imphal: In the last 24 hours leading up to 5 pm of Tuesday in Manipur, five persons tested positive for the coronavirus while 20 persons recovered and were discharged. During the same period, there was no report of any Covid-related death, as per an official release from the Health Department. 

Of the five persons who tested positive, two are from Imphal East and one each from Imphal West, Kamjong and Thoubal. Altogether, 523vpersons were tested amounting to a positivity rate of 1.0 %.

Meanwhile, 20 persons, recovered, 14 of them from home isolation, four from SHRI and one each from JNIMS and RIMS. The recovery rate of the state as of Monday stands at 98.40 %.

The cumulative number of positive cases in the state now stands at 1, 39, 731 of which 1, 37,393 have recovered leaving 87 active cases in the state.

As on August 22, 2022, 470 D-type oxygen cylinders and 37 B-type oxygen cylinders have been made available at different health facilities in Manipur.

The status of Covid Hospital facilities in the state as on August 23, 2022 is as follows: JNIMS has a total of 38 beds out of which seven are occupied and 31 are vacant. RIMS has a total of 62 beds out of which six are occupied and 56 are vacant. 

 The total number of doses administered on August 22, is 3,093, the cumulative number of doses administered is 31,58,520 1st dose 16,25,303, 2nd dose 12,97,954) and precautionary dose is 2,35,263.
