Imphal: There is no letup in the upward climb of positive cases in Manipur, as 70 more persons from the general population tested positive in the last 24 hours leading up to 5 pm of Wednesday.
During the same period, there was no report of any Covid-related deaths while 18 persons recovered, as per an official release from the Health Department.
Of the 70 persons, 32 are from Imphal West, 17 from Imphal East, seven from Thoubal, three each from Bishnupur, Churachandpur and Senapati and one each from Chandel, Kangpokpi, Tengnoupal and Ukhrul. Altogether, 442 persons were tested, amounting to a positivity rate of 15.8 %.
All the 18 persons who recovered are from home isolation. The recovery rate of the state as of Tuesday stands at 98.26 %.
The cumulative number of positive cases in the state now stands at 1, 37, 613 out of which 1, 35, 225 have recovered leaving 268 active cases in the state.
As of July 12, 2022, 133 D-type oxygen cylinders and 19 B-type oxygen cylinders have been made available at different health facilities in Manipur.
The status of Covid Hospital facilities in the state as on July 13, 2022, is as follows: JNIMS has a total of 14 beds out of which 11 are occupied while three are vacant. RIMS has 47 beds out of which 11 are occupied and 36 are vacant.
The total number of doses administered on July 12, is 2,666, the cumulative number of doses administered is 29,90,275 (1st dose 15,99,757, 2nd dose 12,68,765) and precautionary dose is 1,21,756.
