Manipur’s active cases dips sharply to 637 Frida

Imphal: Manipur reported two Covid—related deaths, 83 positive cases and 103 recoveries in the last 24 hours leading up to 2 pm of Friday, as per an official release from the Health Department.

The two deceased persons were from Imphal West and Bishnupur. Both of them had co-morbidities and one of them had taken the 1st dose of Covid Vaccine while the other one had not been vaccinated at all. The cumulative death toll in the state now stands at 2092.

Of the 83 persons from the general population who tested positive, 30 are from Imphal West, 17 Imphal East, six from Ukhrul, five each from Bishnupur and Kakching, four from Thoubal, three each from Kangpokpi, Tamenglong, Noney and Chandel and two each from Senapati and Churachandpur. Altogether 1,671 persons were tested which amounted to a positivity rate of 5.0 %

Meanwhile, 103 persons recovered and were discharged, 73 of them from home isolation, 17 from CCCs, 10 from JNIMS and three from RIMS. 

Due to various reasons 1383 persons were reported as discharged only on Friday, therefor the total persons discharged is taken to be 2022 after reconcialtion with the IDSP team Home isolation team Community Home isolation team and Hospitalisation team as on February 18. The recovery rate of the state stands at 97.96%. 

The cumulative number of positive cases in the state now stands at 1, 36, 322 out of which 1, 33, 543 have recovered leaving 637 active cases.

The total number of doses administered on February 17, 2022, is 6,377, the cumulative number of doses administered is 26,55, 355 (1st dose 14,94, 032, 2nd dose 11,07, 431) and precautionary dose 53,892.
