Kohima: Mobile Unit of Kohima Police, while conducting routine checking of vehicles on Wednesday intercepted one vehicle from South Point area of Kohima town and recovered contraband drugs worth Rs. 20.4 lakh.
According to a release issued by the PRO of Kohima Police on Thursday the vehicle (Mahindra Scorpio) bearing Nagaland registration number was totally searched and recovered 45 soap cases containing suspected heroin (powder) weighing 510 grams approximately. The estimated street value of the seized drugs is worth Rs. 20, 40,000.
In this connection, one lady aged about 37 years from Senapati district of Manipur was arrested and a regular case under the NDPS Act has been registered for further investigation, sources added.
