Thoubal: Preparations are in full swing in connection with the celebration of Khongjom Day. The District Administration Thoubal organised a social service camp at the Khongjom War Memorial Complex for the second time this month on Saturday.
Deputy Commissioner Thoubal A. Subhash Singh IAS led the officials’, staff, and volunteers at the social service camp.
Speaking to the media, the Deputy Commissioner said social service was organised under the initiative of the District Administration to keep the historical site of the Khongjom War Memorial neat and clean for the state-level Khongjom Day celebration, which is going to be held on April 23.
During the camp, beautification of railings, grass cutting, trimming of bushes, and cleaning water bodies, among others, were done by the participants to facelift the memorial complex for the visitors.
He expressed happiness at the large number of participants from various departments in the social service camp. On April 8th, the district administration also organised a similar social service camp.
SP Thoubal Jogeshchandra Haobijam, IPS, along with district police personnel, also took part in the social service camp.
Staff of various departments Municipal Councils, DRDA, ZEO, CMO,MSPDCL, CAF&PD, and DSO, among others, participated in the social service camp.
