Imphal: Manipur saw five more deaths for the third day running, there were also 256 positive cases which include 242 persons from the general population and 14 personnel of CAPF, also there were 80 recoveries in the last 24 hours leading to 5:00 pm of Sunday, as per an official release from the Covid-19 Common Control Room.
The five persons, who succumbed to the pandemic, include an 80-year-old male resident of Bishnupur who expired at Shija Hospital, a 35-year-old male from Imphal East, a 58-year-old male personnel of CAPF from Imphal West and a 79-year-old female resident of Imphal West, all of whom expired at RIMS and a 32-year-old male from Imphal West who expired at JNIMS. The cumulative death toll due to the pandemic in the state now stands at 415.
Of the 312 persons (162 males 150 females) who tested positive from the general population, 112 of them are from Imphal West, 56 are from Imphal East, 17 from Bishnupur, 13 each from Thoubal, Kakching and Churachandpur, 4 each from Kangpokpi and Noney, 3 from Chandel, 2 from Jiribam and 1 from Khongjom.
Meanwhile, there were 80 recoveries which include 70 from home isolation, 6 from SHRI, 2 JNIMS and 1 each from CAPF and RIMS. The recovery rate in the state further dips to 93.04%.
Meanwhile, the Health department has instructed air passengers who travelled to the state on April 25 by Indigo Flight 6E-6181 in rows 16 – 21, on indigo Flight 6E – 21 in rows 29 – 35, to inform Covid Common Control Room 1800343818 or respective District Surveillance Officer (DSO).
The cumulative number of positive cases now stands at 32,161 (General Population — 28,576 and Central Security Personnel — 3,585). The cumulative number of recovered cases is 29,923 (General Population — 26,471 CAPF— 3,452). The number of active cases is 1823 (general population 1695and CAPF 128).
As per the latest information, the total number of vaccination is 207765.
The official release further advised all persons above the age of 45 years to get vaccinated immediately at vaccine centres of RIMS, JNIMS, district hospitals, CHCs, PHCs, and select private hospitals.
