Manipur sees a spike of 20 deaths, 1014 recoveries Friday

14,980 persons were vaccinated on June July 29, 2021. The cumulative number of vaccination is 12,90,134(1st dose 10,88,797, 2nd dose 2,01,337).

Imphal: Manipur reported a significant spike of 20 Covid related deaths in the last 24 hours leading up to 5 pm of Friday. During the same period, 874 persons(872 general population, 2 CAPF) tested positive while 1014 persons recovered and were discharged, as per an official release from the Covid-19 Common Control Room.

The 20 persons who succumbed to the deadly pandemic include five each from Bishnupur and Imphal East, four from Imphal West, three from Thoubal, one each from Chandel, Jiribam and Ukhrul. The cumulative death toll in the state now stands at 1, 541.

Of the 872 persons(439 males, 433 females) who tested positive among the general population, 253 of them are from Imphal West, 172 from Imphal East, 137 from Bishnupur, 84 from Churachandpur, 75 from Kakching, 49 from Thoubal, 27 from Kangpokpi, 19 from Noney, 16 from Chandel, 13 each from Senapati and Ukhrul, eight from Tamenglong, four from Jiribam, two from Tengnoupal and one each  from Kamjong and Pherzawl.

Altogether 6,673 persons were tested on Thursday which amounted to a positivity rate of 13.3%.

Meanwhile, of the 1014 persons who were discharged, 436 are from home isolation, 174 from CCCs, 347 from CHICs, 44 from RIMS and 13 from JNIMS. The recovery rate in the state stands at 87.43% on Thursday.

The cumulative number of positive cases is 97,698(General Population – 93,721, Central Security Personnel – 3,977). The cumulative number of recovered cases is 85,422(General Population – 81,502, Central Security Personnel – 3,920). The number of active cases is 10,935(General Population – 10,683, Personnel – 52).
