Imphal: Manipur registered 12 covid related deaths, 699 new positive cases(698 general population, 1 CAPF) and 908 recoveries in the last 24 hours leading up to 5 pm of Saturday, as per an official release from the Covid-19 Common Control Room.
The 14 persons who succumbed to the deadly pandemic include four from Imphal West, three from Bishnupur, two from Imphal East, and one each from Thoubal and Kakching Churachandpur. The cumulative death toll in the state now stands at 1,640.
Of these 12 persons, three had co-morbidities while four have been vaccinated with the 1st dose.
The 698 persons (340 males, 358 females) who tested positive from amongst the general population include 316 from Imphal West, 139 from Imphal East, 79 from Bishnupur, 48 from Churachandpur, 36 from Thoubal, 20 from Ukhrul, 19 from Kakching, 11 each from Kangpokpi and Tamenglong, nine from Senapati, six from Chandel, two each from Kamjong and Tengnoupal and one from Pherzawl.
Altogether 4,941 persons were tested on Friday amounting for a positivity rate of 14.3%.
Meanwhile, of the 908 persons who were discharged, 362 are from home isolation, 270 from CHICs, 251 from CCCs, 14 from JNIMS and 11 from RIMS. The recovery rate in the state stands at 90.55 % on Saturday.
The cumulative number of positive cases is 1,03,588 (General Population – 99,534, Central Security Personnel – 4,054). The cumulative number of recovered cases is 93,802 (General Population – 89,842, Central Security Personnel – 3,960). The number of active cases is 8,146 (General Population – 8,057, Personnel – 89).
Altogether, 11,663 were vaccinated on August 6, 2021. The cumulative number of vaccination is 13,80,186 (1st dose 11,40,130, 2nd dose 2,40,056).
The total number of vacant hospital beds available in the state as on August 5 at 6pm is 218 which include 167 general beds and 51 ICU/HDU beds, the release added.
