Manipur reports just 3 deaths, positivity rate improves to 9.7% Friday

The 3 persons who succumbed to the deadly virus include 2 from Imphal East and 1 from Imphal West. The cumulative death toll in the state with these 4 deaths now stands at 1,770.

Imphal: Manipur reported just 3 Covid related deaths and with 311 new positive cases (308 general population, 3 CAPF) out of a total of 3,199 persons tested, the positivity rate in the state improved to 9.7% in the last 24 hours leading up to 5 pm of Friday. During the same period 418 persons recovered, as per an official release from the Covid-19 Common Control Room.

The 3 persons who succumbed to the deadly virus include 2 from Imphal East and 1 from Imphal West. The cumulative death toll in the state with these 4 deaths now stands at 1,770.

Two of those who succumbed had co-morbidities while none of them had been vaccinated.

The 308 persons (150 males, 158 females) from the general the population who tested positive include 125 from Imphal West, 78 from Imphal East, 30 from Bishnupur, 22 from Thoubal, 13 from Churachandpur, 8 from Senapati, 7 from Tamenglong, 4 from Chandel, 3 from Kangpokpi 2 from Kakching and 1 from Tengnoupal.

Meanwhile, 418 persons were discharged which include 180 from home isolation, 138 from CHICs, 76 from CCCs, 13 from JNIMS and 11 from RIMS.

The recovery rate in the state further improves to 95.23 %.

The cumulative number of positive cases is 1,12,666 (General Population – 1, 08,564, Central Security Personnel – 4,102). The cumulative number of recovered cases is 1, 07,410 (General Population – 1, 03,330, Central Security Personnel – 4,071). The number of active cases is 3,596 (General Population – 3,508, Personnel – 26).

The total number of vacant hospital beds available in the state as on August 27, is 448 which include 373 general beds and 75 ICU/HDU beds.

The total number of beds available in Covid Care Centers in the state on August 27 is 3547 out of which 774 are occupied and 2773 are vacant.
