Manipur reports 561 new nCoV cases, record 15 deaths in past 24 hrs

Six districts of Manipur have reported the maximum number of active cases with Imphal West registering the highest number of 203 cases followed by Imphal East (84), Thoubal (70), Churachandpur (57), Bishnupur (45) and Kakching (40).

Imphal: Manipur reported 561 new Covid cases and a record 15 deaths in the past 24 hours pushing the total Covid tally in the state to 67,317 with 1,108 fatalities.

The state had recorded eight deaths on Friday and 11 fatalities on Thursday 23, while it recorded 9 fatalities on Wednesday.

Fifteen persons – one each at Raj Medicity and DH Churachandpur, two each at DH Tamenglong and Shija Hospital, five at RIMS, four at JNIMS expired on Saturday. Among them two each were from Imphal West and Tamenglong, five at Imphal East, one each at Thoubal, Chandel and Churachandpur, three at Bishnupur and two at Tamenglong.

Six districts of Manipur have reported the maximum number of active cases with Imphal West registering the highest number of 203 cases followed by Imphal East (84), Thoubal (70), Churachandpur (57), Bishnupur (45) and Kakching (40).

The bulletin said 534 people were recovered or discharged from the disease taking the total recoveries in the state to 60,529.  The recovery rate is 89.91 per cent. The state has 5,680 active cases.

 According to bulletin released by the State Health directorate 4,516 tests conducted in the state in the past 24 hours.

As many as 8,309 people were vaccinated in the last 24 hours, totaling the number at 523899 so far.

Meanwhile, the state health department has appealed to people with oxygen level (SPO2) below 94 per cent to immediately seek medical advice or shift to Covid Care Centres, Helpline numbers: Covid Control Room number -1800-345-3818, Home Isolation Helpline: 0385-2441230, 0385-2441231.
