Imphal: Manipur reported 12 Covid related deaths, 928 new positive cases and 868 recoveries in the last 24 hours leading up to 5 pm of Thursday, as per an official release from the Covid-19 Common Control Room.
921 of these positive cases are from the general population while 7 are personnel of the Central Armed Police Force. Altogether 5,555 persons were tested giving a positivity rate of 16.7%, a significant improvement from Wednesday’s rate of 19.4%.
Of the 12 persons who succumbed to the deadly pandemic, three each are from Imphal West, Imphal East and Kangpokpi, two are from Bishnupur and one from Thoubal. The cumulative Covid related death toll in the state now stands at 1,436. None of the 12 who died were vaccinated and seven of them had co-morbidities.
The 921 persons from the general population who tested positive Wednesday include 284 from Imphal West, 256 from Imphal East, 109 from Churachandpur, 79 from Bishnupur, 55 from Kakching, 54 from Thoubal, 26 from Tamenglong, 23 from Chandel,15 from Kamjong, 11 from Senapati, 5 from Jiribam, 3 each from Noney, Tengnoupa and Ukhrul and 2 from Pherzawl.
Meanwhile, of the 868 persons who were discharged 362 of them were on home isolation, 276 were from CHICs, 209 from CCCs, 15 from JNIMS and 6 from RIMS. The recovery rate in the state stands at 86.70% on Wednesday.
The cumulative number of positive cases is 88,978(General Population – 85,017, Central Security Personnel – 3,961). The cumulative number of recovered cases is 77,147(General Population – 73,254, Central Security Personnel – 3,893). The number of active cases is 10,395(General Population – 10,332 Personnel – 63).
20,216 persons were vaccinated on June July 21, 2021. The cumulative number of vaccination is 11,11,138(1st dose 9,79,896, 2nd dose 1,31,242).
