Imphal: In the last 24 hours leading up to 5 pm of Monday, Manipur reported 12 Covid related deaths, 541 new positive cases and 1120 recoveries, as per an official release from the Covid-19 Common C,ontrol Room.
The 12 persons who succumbed to the deadly pandemic include three each from Imphal West, Churachandpur and Thoubal and one each from Imphal East, Kamjong and Kangpokpi. The cumulative death toll in the state now stands at 1,578.
Of the 12 persons who succumbed to Covid 19, only two of them have been vaccinated with the 1st dose.
The 541 persons(262males, 279 females) who tested positive among the general population include 119 from Imphal East, 100 from Imphal West, 55 each from Bishnupur, Churachandpur abd Kakching, 49 from Thoubal, 23 each from Kangpokpi and Tamenglong, 20 from Senapati, 11 from Ukhrul, 10 from Tengnoupal , eight from Chandel, six from Noney, five from Jiribam and two from Kamjong.
Altogether 4,271 persons were tested on Monday for a slightly improved positivity rate of 12.7%.
Meanwhile, of the 1120 persons who were discharged, 368 are from home isolation, 263 from CHICs, 227 from CCCs, 15 from JNIMS and 47 from RIMS. The recovery rate in the state stands at 88.59% on Thursday.
The cumulative number of positive cases is 99,331(General Population – 99,872, Central Security Personnel – 3,988). The cumulative number of recovered cases is 88,480(General Population – 84,544, Central Security Personnel – 3,936). The number of active cases is 9,814(General Population – 9,767, Personnel – 47).
Altogether, 3,271persons were vaccinated on August 1, 2021. The cumulative number of vaccination is 13,23,558(1st dose 11,10,318, 2nd dose 2,13,240).
The total number of beds vacant in the state is 104 which include 83 genera; beds and 21 ICU/HDU beds, the release added.
