Manipur reports 12 deaths, 442 positive cases Saturday

In the last 24 hours, a total of 1074 D type oxygen cylinders and 500 B type oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health Institutions and health facilities of Manipur.

Imphal: Manipur reported 12 deaths and 442 new positive cases, (440 persons from the general population and 2 personnel from CAPF) in the last 24 hours leading up to 5:00 pm of Friday. During the same period, there were also 85 recoveries, as per an official release from the Covid-19 Common Control Room.

The 12 persons who succumbed to the pandemic Saturday are, a 76-year-old female from Kangpokpi, who expired at District Hospital, Kangpokpi, a 58-year-old female from Ukhrul who passed away at Shija Hospital and a 41-year-old female from Kangpokpi who expired at CMC. Seven others, a 46-year-old female from Imphal East, a 65-year-old male from Thoubal, a 75-year-old female from Imphal West, a 72-year-old female from Imphal East, a 56-year-old male from Imphal East, a 60-year-old male from Imphal West and a 59-year-old male from Imphal West expired at JNIMS while an 82-year-old female from Imphal West and a 60-year-old male from Imphal West) expired RIMS. The cumulative number of deaths is 461.

Of the 440 persons (212 males, 228  females) from the general population who tested positive, 168 of them are from Imphal West, 140 are from Imphal East, 32 from Kakching, 27 are from Bishnupur, 17 from Thoubal, 16 from Churachandpur, 13 from Ukhrul, 12 from Noney, 5 from Chandel, 4 each from Jiribam and Tengnoupal, 3 from Senapati and 1 from Kangpokpi.

Meanwhile, 85 persons recovered and were discharged. These include 68 from home isolation, 6 from RD Wing, 4 from RIMS, 2 each from CAPF and JNIMS and 1 each Jiribam, BB and LANVA. The recovery rate of the state now stands at 87.60%.

The cumulative number of positive eases is 34,775 (General Population – 31,125 and Central Security Personnel – 3.650). The cumulative number of recovered eases is 30,463 (General Population 26.994 and Central Security Personnel – 3.469). The number of active cases is 3851 (General Population -3675 and Central Security Personnel – 176).

In the last 24 hours, a total of 1074 D type oxygen cylinders and 500 B type oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health Institutions and health facilities of Manipur.

As per latest information, the total number of persons vaccinated is 158740.
