Manipur reports 10 deaths, 736 new cases, 921 recoveries Sunday

The 10 persons who succumbed to the deadly pandemic include three each from Imphal West, and Imphal East, and one each from Bishnupur, Kakching, Churachandpur and Kangpokpi. The cumulative death toll in the state now stands at 1,650.

Imphal: In the last 24 hours leading up to 5 pm of Sunday, Manipur reported 10 covid related deaths, 736 new positive cases(733 general population, 3 CAPF) and 921 recoveries, as per an official release from the Covid-19 Common Control Room.

The 10 persons who succumbed to the deadly pandemic include three each from Imphal West, and Imphal East, and one each from Bishnupur, Kakching,  Churachandpur and Kangpokpi. The cumulative death toll in the state now stands at 1,650.

Of these 10 persons who expired, nine of them had co-morbidities none of them have been vaccinated.

The 736 persons (351 males, 382 females) who tested positive from amongst the general population include 246 from Imphal West, 206 from Imphal East, 66 from Bishnupur, 54 from Noney, 42 from Churachandpur, 37 from Thoubal, 19 each from from Ukhrul and Kakching, 13 from Senapati, 11 from Tamenglong, 10 from Chandel, seven from Pherzawl, four from Kangpokpi and one each from Kamjong and Tengnoupal.

Altogether 4,941 persons were tested on Friday amounting for a positivity rate of 13.1%.

Meanwhile, of the 921 persons who were discharged, 463 are from home isolation, 202 from CHICs, 238 from CCCs, 7 from JNIMS and 11 from RIMS. The recovery rate in the state stands at 90.79% on Sunday.

The cumulative number of positive cases is 1,04,324 (General Population – 1,00,267, Central Security Personnel – 4,057). The cumulative number of recovered cases is 94,723 (General Population – 90,759, Central Security Personnel – 3,964). The number of active cases is 7,951(General Population – 7,863, Personnel – 88).

Altogether, 10,119were vaccinated on August 7, 2021. The cumulative number of vaccination is 13,90,305(1st dose 11,45,288, 2nd dose 2,45,017).

The total number of vacant hospital beds available in the state as on August 8 at 6pm is 232 which include 173 general beds and 59 ICU/HDU beds.

Of the total 3547 beds available in CCCs in the state, 1410 is occupied while 2137 are vacant, the release added.
