Imphal: Manipur reported two more Covid related deaths in the last 24 hours leading up to 2 pm on Wednesday. During the same period, 51 persons from the 70 general population tested coronavirus positive while 34 persons recovered and were discharged, as per an official release from the health department.
The two persons who succumbed on Wednesday are from Imphal West and Imphal East, both of them had co-morbidities and had not taken any dose of Covid vaccine. With these two deaths, the cumulative death toll in the state now stands at 1955.
Of the 51 persons who tested positive from the general population, 22 are from Imphal West, 18 are from Imphal East, four each from Bishnupur and Kakching, two from Ukhrul and one from Tengnouupal.
Altogether, 2,022 persons were tested for a positivity rate of 2.5 %.
Meanwhile, 34 persons recovered and were discharged Tuesday, 14 of them from home isolation, 11 from CCCs, five from JNIMS and four from RIMS. The recovery rate in the state now stands at 97.99 %.
The cumulative number of positive cases is 1, 24,639 out of which 1,22,132 have recovered leaving 552 active cases.
The total number of doses administered on November 16, 2021, is 7,031, the cumulative number of doses administered is 20,76,012 (1st dose 12,64,522, 2nd dose 8,11,490
