Manipur registers only 2 deaths, positivity rate improves to 8.9%

Imphal: Manipur registered only 2 Covid related deaths and with 223 positive cases (221 general population 2 CAPF) out of total of 2,509 tested, the state’s positivity rate improved significantly to 8.9% in the last 24 hours leading up to 5 pm of Monday.

The 2 who succumbed to the deadly virus are from Kakching and Ukhrul. The cumulative death toll in the state with these 5 deaths now stands at 1,779. Both the deceased did not get vaccinated for Covid -19 vaccination

The 221 persons (98 males, 123 females) from the general population who tested positive include 70 from Imphal West, 45 from Imphal East, 34 fromKakching, 17 from Churachandpur, 14 from Bishnupur, 10 from Ukhrul, 8 from Thoubal, 5 from Chandel, 3 each from Noney and Senapati and 1 each from Kangpokpi and Tamenglong.

Meanwhile, 269 persons were discharged which include 127 from home isolation, 81 from CCCs, 45 from CHICs, 7 from JNIMS and 13 from RIMS. The recovery rate in the state now stands at 95.49 %.

The cumulative number of positive cases is 1,13,551(General Population – 1, 09,442, Central Security Personnel – 4,109). The cumulative number of recovered cases is 1, 08,430 (General Population – 1, 04,341, Central Security Personnel – 4,089). The number of active cases is 3,346 (General Population – 3,325, Personnel – 15).

The total number of doses administered on August 29, 2021 is 999 and the cumulative number doses administered is 15,19,826 (1st dose 11,85,319, 2nd dose 3,34,507)

The total number of vacant hospital beds available in the state as on August 30, is 466 which include 361 general beds and 105 ICU/HDU beds.

The total number of beds available in Covid Care Centers in the state on August 30 is 3547 out of which 732 are occupied and 2815 are vacant.
