Manipur registers 439 positive cases Saturday, positivity rate remains high at 12.6%

The nine persons, who succumbed to the deadly pandemic, include five from Imphal West, two from Thoubal and one each from Imphal East and Tamenglong. The cumulative death toll in the state with these eight deaths now stands at 1,700.

Imphal: Manipur in the last 24 hours leading up to 5 pm of Saturday, reported below five hundred positive cases of 439 after several weeks. During the same period, the state also reported nine Covid related deaths and 573 recoveries, as per an official release from the Covid-19 Common Control Room.

The nine persons, who succumbed to the deadly pandemic, include five from Imphal West, two from Thoubal and one each from Imphal East and Tamenglong. The cumulative death toll in the state with these eight deaths now stands at 1,700.

Of these nine persons who expired, eight of them had co-morbidities while one had been vaccinated with the 1st dose.

The 438 persons (205 males, 233 females) who tested positive from amongst the general population include 164 from Imphal West, 88 from Imphal East, 53 from Bishnupur, 33 from Churachandpur, 26 from Pherzawl, 19 from Kakching, 14 each from Kangpokpi and Thoubal, 7 from Ukhrul, five each from Noney and Tamenglong, four from Seanpati, two each from Jiribam and Tengnoupal and one from Chandel.

A total of 3,477 persons were tested on Thursday amounting to a positivity rate of 12.6%.

Meanwhile, 573 persons were discharged which include 236 from home isolation, 157 from CHICs, 145 from CCCs, 19 from JNIMS and 17 from RIMS. The recovery rate in the state stands at 92.35% on Thursday.

The cumulative number of positive cases is 1, 07,668(General Population – 1, 03,600, Central Security Personnel – 4,068). The cumulative number of recovered cases is 99,440(General Population – 95,424, Central Security Personnel – 4,016). The number of active cases is 6,528(General Population – 6,481, Personnel – 47).

Altogether, 4,191 were vaccinated on August 13, 2021. The cumulative number of vaccination is 14, 35,320(1st dose 11,65,747, 2nd dose 2,69,573).

The total number of vacant hospital beds available in the state as on August 14, is 231 which includes 163 general beds and 68 ICU/HDU beds.

Of the total 3547 beds available in CCCs in the state on August 14, 1217 are occupied while 2330 are vacant, the release added.
