Imphal: Manipur Thursday recorded 621 fresh cases, 10 deaths and 783 recoveries in the last 24 hours. This is the fourth consecutive day that the positivity rate witnessed a decline in the state.
This is the first time in a week that the daily death count has stood at 10 since May 26 when the tally was 10.
According to the latest health bulletin, these new fatalities pushed the death toll from COVID-19 here to 849.
One person each at CHC Chakpikarong, CCC Bal Bhavan, two each at RIMS and Shija Hospital and four at JNIMS expired.
With these new cases, the total number of active cases stands at about 8,863 right now, pushing the total number of cases to 52,899. Among the active cases, 4,734 people are in Home Isolation. The cumulative number of recovered cases is 43,187. The recovery rate is 81.64 per cent, which is slightly better than the previous day.
For a second time in three days, Manipur detected another case of black fungus or mucormycosis infection in Raj Medicity hospital. A 37-year-old female from Bishnupur district is the third case Manipur has reported so far.
In the last 24 hours, a total of 787D-type Oxygen cylinders and 425 B-type Oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health facilities of Manipur and Central Medical Store in the Directorate of Health Services has 650 D type cylinders in stock.
As per the latest information, the total number of persons who were vaccinated is 7637.
