Imphal: Manipur on Friday recorded 1,128 COVID-19 cases, the biggest single-day jump so far, while 10 more people succumbed to the disease, according to data shared by the health department.
The state’s cumulative case count now stands at 82,688, and the death toll at 1350, the bulletin stated.
Manipur had recorded 22 COVID-19 deaths on Tuesday, the second-highest single-day fatality count till date.
The positivity rate rose to 15.70 per cent on Tuesday from 14.72 per cent a day ago, the bulletin stated.
The fresh cases came out of over 7,184 tests conducted the previous day.
The state had reported 1,039 cases and 14 deaths on Thursday and1104 cases and 17 deaths on Wednesday.
Among the 10 deaths, four each were from Imphal West and Imphal East, one each was from Kangpokpi and Jiribam. With this, the cumulative number of deaths is 1350.
On the other hand, 643 persons were discharged either from hospitals or home isolation. Now, the cumulative number of recovered cases stands at 72,305. While the number of active cases is 9,033 the recovery rate is 87.44 per cent.
The number of doses of Covid-19 vaccine administered on Friday is 27,282. The grand total of admitted patients is 2136 and number of beds available is 20867.
