Manipur records 9 more deaths, toll touches 881

Imphal: Manipur recorded 9 deaths, 823 new positive cases and 646 recoveries in the last 24 hours leading up to 5:00 pm of Sunday, as per an official release from the Covid-19 Common Control Room.

The 9 persons who succumbed to Covid-19 on Sunday include 4 from Imphal East, 3 from Imphal West and 1 each from Kangpokpi, and Kakching. The cumulative death toll in the state now stands at 881.

Of the 821 persons (417 males, 402 females) who tested positive from the general population, 245 are from Imphal West, 192 from Imphal East, 86 from Thoubal, 71 from Churachandpur, 69 from Kakching, 56 from Jiribam, 49 from Bishnupur, 14 from Tengnoupal, 12 from Ukhrul, 9 from Kamjong,  7 from Kangpokpi, 6 from Chandel, and 1 each from Noney and Senapati.

Meanwhile, 646 persons recovered which include 478 from home isolation, 156 from other Covid Care facilities, 9 from RIMS and 3 from JNIMS. The recovery rate in the state now stands at 81.77 %

The cumulative number of positive cases is 55,230 (General Population – 51,463 and Central Security Personnel – 3,767). The cumulative number of recovered cases is 45,165 (General Population – 41,410 and Central Security Personnel – 3,755). The number of active cases it 9,184 (General Population – 9,177 and Central Security Personnel – 7).

In the last 24 hours, a total of 1863D type Oxygen Cylinders and 549B-type Oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health institutions and health facilities of Manipur. District hospitals and government institutions have 419D type and 84B type filled cylinders out of which  Bishnupur (71D, 15B), Chandel (32D, 7B), Churachandpur (89D, 10B), Senapati (32D, 0B), Thoubal (51D, 20B), Ukhrul (29D, 0B), Tamenglong (30D, 5B), Jiribam (36D, 10B), Moreh (19D,  5B), Kamjong (3D, 1B), Kangpokpi (3D, 0B), Kakching (16D, 19B), Noney (2D, 0B) and Perbung(6D, 2B).

As per latest information, the total number of persons vaccinated is 4, 22,872, the release added.
