Imphal: Manipur recorded 812 new infections of the coronavirus disease and 18 fatalities in a span of 24 hours, a bulletin from the health department stated on Thursday.
With this, the total number of positive cases in the state reached 47, 111 and the death toll climbed to 748. One person each at CCC Kakching, District Hospital Tamenglong, Jivan Hospital, Rajmed; two at District Hospital Churachandpur, three at Home Isolation, four at JNIMS and five at RIMS expired.
Meanwhile, recoveries continued to be almost half dipper than the new cases as 576 people were discharged on the day, according to the health bulletin. So far, 38,901 people have recovered from the disease and the recovery rate stood at 82.57 per cent, according to the latest data.
Active caseload declined by 35 in the last 24 hours and currently stands at 7,462. However, Thursday was the straight third day the state has seen rise of Covid cases above 800-mark.
During the last 24 hours, a total of 1402 D type Oxygen Cylinders and 543 B-type Oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health institutions and health facilities of Manipur.
As per latest information, the total number of persons who were vaccinated Thursday was 11862, which is one of the highest so far.
