Imphal: Narcotics Control Bureau (NAB) has arrested a policeman with 3 kilograms of suspected brown sugar during a surprise frisking and checking at Purum Likli area along Imphal-Saikul Road on Wednesday evening.
The policeman has been identified as Seilenthang Kilong, 31, of Thangkanphai village, Saikul under Kangpokpi district. He is currently posted as constable at Reserve Line, Bishnupur district, officials said.
Three kilograms of suspected brown sugar, two mobile phone handsets, Poco, with one SIM card each, one Service Identity Card issued by SP Bishnupur, and one Activa BS VIG Blue in colour without registration number have been seized from him.
The police constable is now placed under suspension. Further investigation is taken up by registering a case at NAB Police Station.
