Manipur Police collect over Rs 1.5 crore in its drive against SOP violators

The maximum collection is from Thoubal where the Department collected Rs 65,40,220 in its drive followed by Imphal West where the department collected Rs 62,01,250 to date.

Imphal: The Manipur Police Department has so far collected a cumulative fine of Rs 1,51,17,990 from violators of guidelines and restrictions issued from time to time by the concerned authorities since the beginning of the pandemic in 2020.

District wise, the maximum collection is from Thoubal where the Department collected Rs 65,40,220 in its drive followed by Imphal West where the department collected Rs 62,01,250 to date.

Thoubal also tops in the number of persons detained during this period with 69,197 out of a total of 1,53,768 followed yet again by Imphal West with 29,774. Since the restrictions came into force, the Police Department has also detained a total of 51,850 vehicles out of which the maximum number was from Thoubal district with 17,379 vehicles detained. Imphal West with 8,607 vehicles detained followed next.
