Imphal: A few senior Ministers in the N Biren Singh-led government in Manipur and one senior IAS officer are allegedly involved in sex racket, if the revelations of a transgender pimp are to be believed.
Laishram Kumarjit, 32, a well-known make-up artist and fashion designer who also runs a salon cum spa at Sagolband Bijoy Govinda, claimed that some senior ministers and a top officer in the Education Department are some of his high-profile clients.
Kumarjit, son of L Sarat of Takyel Khongbal Maning Leikai, Imphal West, was shot by a powerful militant group on Saturday morning for allegedly running a sex racket.
Reports said that the fashion designer was produced before a group of media persons by the militant group in a place in Bishnupur district and he reportedly confessed his misdeeds.
A spokesperson of Koireng-led UNLF Pibarel Angomcha stated that as a part of the drive carried out against anti-social elements, Kumarjit was shot on his left calf for working as a pimp.
The spokesperson also strongly condemned and is disappointed that some people are using women as ‘toys’.
Earlier, the armed organisation also shot a ‘madam’ on her left calf and announced that Koireng-led UNLF would investigate the sex rackets in Manipur. The organisation also announced that there is a strong suspicion of the involvement of ministers, MLAs and other bureaucrats in these sex rackets.
Kumarjit is currently undergoing treatment at the Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) Hospital, Imphal, reports added.
