Manipur logs three deaths, 57 positive cases Friday

Imphal: Three more persons succumbed to Covid related death in the last 24 hours leading up to 2 pm of Friday, taking Manipur’s cumulative death toll to 1,959. During the same period, 57 persons (56 general populations, 1 CAPF) tested coronavirus positive while 50 persons recovered and were discharged, as per an official release from the Health Department.

The three persons who expired on Friday are from Imphal West, Chandel and Kakching respectively. All three of them had co-morbidities and none of them has been vaccinated for Covid.

Of the 56 persons who tested positive from the general population, 41 are from Imphal West, 12 from Imphal East, two from Bishnupur and one each from Chandel and Kakching.

Altogether, 1,778 persons were tested for a positivity rate of 3.2 %.

Meanwhile, 50 persons recovered and were discharged Friday, 20 of them from home isolation, 17 from CCCs, 15 from JNIMS and one from RIMS. The recovery rate in the state now stands at 97.96 %.

The cumulative number of positive cases in the state now stands at 1, 24,757 out of which 1,22,210 have recovered leaving 588 active cases.

The total number of doses administered on November 18, 2021, is 6,246, the cumulative number of doses administered is 20,90,419 (1st dose 12,67,217, 2nd dose 8,23,202).
