Manipur logs one death, 73 positive cases, 107 recoveries

The lone person who succumbed to the deadly virus is a female resident of Kangpokpi. She had co-morbidities and had not been vaccinated. With her death, the cumulative deaths in the state stand at 2126.

Imphal: Manipur reported 73 positive cases from the general population, one Covid-related death and 107 recoveries in the last 24 hours leading up to 5 pm of Monday, as per an official release from the Health Department. 

The lone person who succumbed to the deadly virus is a female resident of Kangpokpi. She had co-morbidities and had not been vaccinated. With her death, the cumulative deaths in the state stand at 2126.

Of the 73 persons who tested positive, 37 are from Imphal West, 23 from Imphal West, three from Bishnupur, two each from Chandel, Kakching and Kangpokpi and one each from Churachandpur, Kamjong, Tamenglong and Thoubal. Altogether, 627 persons were tested. The positive rate4 now stands at 11.6%.

Of the 107 persons who recovered, 96 are from home isolation, seven from JNIMS, three from RIMS and one from SHRI. The recovery rate of the state as of Friday stands at 98.03%.

The lone person who expired due to Covid is from Imphal East. The deceased had co-morbidities and had been vaccinated with the 2nd dose. The cumulative death due to Covid in the state stands at 2125

The cumulative number of positive cases in the state now stands at 1, 38, 631 out of which 1, 35, 900 have recovered leaving 605 active cases in the state.

As on July 24, 2022, 20 D-type oxygen cylinders and 7 B-type oxygen cylinders have been made available at different health facilities in Manipur.

The status of Covid Hospital facilities in the state as on July 25, 2022 are as follows: JNIMS has a total of 38 beds out of which 25 are occupied and 13 are vacant. RIMS has a total of 62 beds, of which 48 are occupied and 14 are vacant. 

 The total number of doses administered on July 24, is 374, the cumulative number of doses administered is 30,65,428 (1st dose 16,08,566, 2nd dose 12,80,183) and the precautionary dose is 1,76,679.
