Imphal: Manipur logged a high 578 positive cases (571 general population seven CAPF) and the positivity rate jumped to 19.3% in the last 24 hours leading up to 2 pm of Friday. During the same period, the state also recorded two Covid related deaths and 100 recoveries, as per an official release from the Health Department.
The two persons who expired are from Ukhrul and Churachandpur. Both of them had co-morbidities and one of them had taken the Ist dose of Covid vaccine. The cumulative death toll in the state now stands at 2019.
Of the 571 persons from the general population who tested positive, 328 are from Imphal West, 69 from Imphal East, 29 from Churachandpur, 21 each from Thoubal and Bishnupur, nine from Ukhrul, seven each from Chandel and Jiribam, six from Kakching, five from Tengnoupal four from Tamenglong and one each from Kamjong and Senapati. Altogether, 2,988 persons were tested amounting to a positivity rate of 19.3 %.
Meanwhile, 100 persons recovered and were discharged, 65 from home isolation, 27 from CCCs, seven from JNIMS and one from RIMS. The recovery rate of the state stands at 96.23 %
The cumulative number of positive cases in the state now stands at 1, 29,257 out of which 1,24,378 have recovered, leaving 2,860 active cases.
The total number of doses administered on January 20, 2022, is 7,022, the cumulative number of doses administered is 24,18,518 (1st dose 13,78,579, 2nd dose 10,28,160) and precautionary 11,779.
There is a total of 300 covid beds in JNIMS, out of which 29 are occupied while 271 are vacant while in RIMS there are 190 Covid beds, out of which 58 are occupied and 132 are vacant.
