Manipur logs 26 Covid positive cases, one death, 43 recoveries

Imphal: In the last 24 hours leading up to 5 pm of Thursday, Manipur reported one Covid-related deaths, 26 positive cases and 42 recoveries, as per an official release from the Health Department.

The lone person from the general population who succumbed to the deadly virus is from Imphal West. The expired person had no co-morbidities and had taken 1st dose of Covid vaccine. The cumulative death in the state now stands at 2141.

Of the 26  persons who tested positive, 10 are from Imphal West, six from Imphal East, three from Churachandpur, two each from Bishnupur, Thoubal and Ukhrul and one from Chandel. Altogether, 715 persons were tested amounting to a positivity rate of 3.5 %.

Meanwhile, 42 persons recovered, 25 from home isolation, 10 discharge,  three each RIMS and SHRI and one from JINIMS. The recovery rate of the state as of Saturday stands at 98.30 %.

The cumulative number of positive cases in the state now stands at 1, 39, 472 of which 1, 37,105 have recovered leaving 226 active cases in the state.

As on August 10, 2022, 112 D-type oxygen cylinders and 13 B-type oxygen cylinders have been made available at different health facilities in Manipur.

The status of Covid Hospital facilities in the state as on August 11, 2022 are as follows: JNIMS has a total of 38 beds out of which 11 are occupied and 27 are vacant. RIMS has a total of 62 beds out of which 14 are occupied and 48 are vacant.

 The total number of doses administered on August 10 , is 3,099, the cumulative number of doses administered is 31,38,966 (1st dose 16,22,815, 2nd dose 12,93,294) and precautionary dose is 2,22,357.
